Rina Cabrera Richers

Rina Cabrera Richers was born in San Jacinto, El Salvador. She was very active in her local parish and by the age of 16 was the youth member of the parish council.
During the civil war, she completed medical school worked with Doctors without Borders in the jungle for a year. After which she returned to complete her OBGYN residency and start her own clinic.
Three years later she decided to leave it all and emigrate to the United States where arrived with only a small amount of cash and a job offer. Over the next decade, she obtained her Nurse Practitioner license, meet her husband and took over Saratoga Urgent Care in Springfield VA as the solo practitioner.
A few years later Rina, with her husband, began working with the Sisters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul and the Fathers of St Vincent de Paul to fund desperately needed projects to service the poor around the San Jacinto parish. In 2025 she would be selected as Missionary of the Year by the charitable organization Commissioned by Christ.
